Every two years, the IOC’s International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) holds its Committee Session to review progress, assess activity proposals, allocate budgets, and adopt decisions and recommendations. This session has always been preceded by a scientific workshop or conference.

This year, the Third International Ocean Data Conference will be held in Santa Marta, Colombia on 10-11 of March, 2025 and is co-organized by Invemar (Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas y Costeras José Benito Vives de Andreis), IOC, and IODE.

It will bring together ocean practitioners worldwide to discuss key topics, such as biodiversity, capacity building, the federated Global Ocean Data Ecosystem, and Sustainable Ocean Planning and Management, a detailed description of the programme can be found here
