The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) is seeking a talented and motivated data scientist (post-doctoral or equivalent) to work on three interconnected projects: MARine COastal BiOdiversity Long-term Observations (MARCO-BOLO), BIOcean5D, and Global cooperation on FAIR data policy and practice (WorldFAIR). The focus is on linking open data and biodiversity, with an opjective to harmonise data and information flows within the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) (Ocean Decade) and IODE of IOC-UNESCO digital framework.
The results of this work will inform strategy development and implementation guidance for robust, interoperable ocean digital ecosystems.
