The Ocean Predict symposium (OP’24), themed “Advancing Ocean Prediction Science for Societal Benefit“, will be held in Paris next week, from the 18 to 22 November, 2024 at UNESCO Headquarters. OceanPredict has partnered with IOC-UNESCO for this event to support Ocean Decade efforts, bringing together experts, stakeholders, and policymakers to advance operational oceanography for the benefit of society.
OP’24 will focus on enhancing cooperation and partnerships across diverse communities to address challenges related to sustainable development, the blue economy, and societal awareness with ocean issues. Key themes will include: Ocean predictions, covering global, basin-scale, coastal, regional, polar ocean, and sea ice forecasts; advances in ocean predictions technology (measurements, observations, modeling, data assimilation, machine learning/AI, digital twins, and more); ocean prediction systems and services; and user applications and societal benefits.
