• The Decade Coordination Office (DCO) for Ocean Data Sharing, together with IODE, are delighted to announce their first joint Webinar, “The why, what and how of Data Management in the Decade”, to take place on 31 January, 2024 at 13:00 CET.  
  • Data and information are key enablers of the Ocean Decade outcomes and the Decade Implementation Plan states that “Digitizing, accessing, managing and, most importantly, using ocean-related data, information and knowledge will be cornerstones of the success of the Ocean Decade.” The Decade’s Data and Information Strategy provides a Vision for achieving this.
  • While there is now a total of 99 projects contributing to Challenge 8 (22 contributions, 18 programmes, 59 projects) and 4 Primary Programmes active under the oversight of the DCO – Ocean Data Sharing, almost all Actions will be using or generating data in some context. The DCO for Ocean Data Sharing is working is to provide support to help Actions find and use the data they need, and to share the data they generate, according to globally recognized best practices.
  • This webinar, will provide bring together experts in the field of data management and sharing to provide a primer for Decade Actions in the basics of data management and make links to resources on data sharing and management.
